I have been designing and making sterling silver jewellery for 19 years from my workshop in Tenterden Kent and I particularly enjoy the alchemy of turning dull uninteresting base silver into distinct and striking pieces. Having started my career suited and booted in the City of London, I had a chance to put my more artistic skills to the test when I started a silversmithing course just before the birth of my first child. I have never looked back (and certainly have no wish to go back to London).
For the first year or so, my family and friends received my 'silver experiments' with appropriate gratitude but eventually I realised that I needed to start a business to warrant my obsession with making jewellery and spending more and more time in the shed.
I have always valued the sanctuary of my workshop where I can play with hammers and listen to my own choice of music. Edie my Jack Russell always accompanies me but does tend to hog the heater. Because wifi does not reach my workshop, my now teenage children tend to stay away!
Ultimately I want every piece of jewellery that leaves my workshop to be loved and treasured for years - each design has been handcrafted by myself from start to finish and, for the stamp of authenticity, I have my pieces hallmarked in London. On request, for commissions, I will have a date stamp added to anniversary and birthday pieces.
Please feel free to contact me with any query or request you may have and I will do my best to help you. I strive to make jewellery that will be loved and treasured for years to come.
